In your application form you introduce yourself and provide necessary information to enable your application to proceed. You can indicate what trip you want to come on and on what date, and order maps and compasses.
When I receive your application I will contact you by email and answer any questions you may have, and will attach an invoice for the trip you are booking onto plus any map and compass orders. I may need to ask you a few more questions before issuing your invoice.
Your booking is not confirmed until your payment has been received. If left unpaid, your place on the trip could be taken by someone else.
Once paid, your booking is confirmed. You will receive a confirmation email and an information pack with everything you need to know to prepare and attend the weekend.
This can be done any time before the trip but is mandatory. Ideally you would do this soon after your application. Please don't leave this until last minute. The form is required for your safety on the trip.
It is important that you understand the risks involved in a wilderness hike. The risk assessment document explains the risks and measures that will be taken to minimize those risks. Please read this document.

You will receive a refund for any map and compass orders plus 50% of the course fee.

A cancellation is considered COVID related if health orders, travel restrictions or border closures prevent you from attending or prevent the trip from going ahead. A cancellation is also COVID related if you test positive for COVID or are a close contact of a known COVID case and are required to self isolate.
In such circumstances you may either receive a full refund or you may rebook at no extra charge on another MountainSphere trip in the next 12 months.
A cancellation is not considered COVID related if no health order or stay at home order prevents you from attending or the trip from occurring. For example, you deciding not to attend due to a COVID outbreak which does not result in any lockdown due to vaccination rates being high enough. This would be considered cancellation by you and the above cancellation policy would apply.
All clients and staff attending any MountainSphere trip are expected to be fully vaccinated with at least 2 doses of a TGA approved COVID vaccine. Please provide proof of vaccination if requested.
Your booking is for the trip on the dates specified. If you want to transfer your booking to a different date then this can be done for a $30 transfer fee provided that:
If any of the above 3 points are not met then your transfer will be treated as a cancellation plus a new booking and the cancellation policy applies.
Exemptions may be made and leniency offered under certain circumstances, such as you requiring a transfer due to COVID related considerations.
If I initiate the transfer by making an approach to you to change to a different date, then there is no transfer fee, in such circumstances the transfer will be done free of charge.
